SOUTH KOREA: National rail operator Korail has selected Hyundai Rotem to supply 30 high speed electric multiple-units for the Gyeongjeon Line linking Busan and Masan, which is due to open in 2020. Korail expects to sign the 102bn won contract in the next week.
Hyundai Rotem will supply its HEMU 250 design, which it unveiled in 2012. The trains will have a maximum speed of 250 km/h.
