SKF: The Insight Rail wireless condition based-maintenance technology from bearing and seal supplier SKF can be integrated with Siemens’ Railigent application suite and MindSphere internet of things operating system following the signing of a co-operation agreement announced on June 13.
The agreement is intended to support condition-based maintenance by facilitating the on-line monitoring of components such as wheelsets and bearings.
‘With Railigent, Siemens offers a powerful platform for a multitude of digital services’, said Filip Rosengren, Director, Railway Industry at SKF. ‘In particular, the system simplifies data access, enabling operators to gather essential data about the condition of their rolling stock components from a single access point.’
