GERMANY: Deutsche Plasser Bahnbaumaschinen GmbH has been merged with the Robel Service & Customer Service business unit to create Plasser Robel Services GmbH with effect from January 1 2022.
The combined undertaking becomes the largest service organisation in the Plasser & Theurer group. It will provide whole-life support and maintenance for rail vehicles and machines supplied by Robel globally and by Plasser & Theurer in selected markets, acting as first point of contact for service customers for both brands.
PRS comes under the umbrella of Robel Holding GmbH, along with five other subsidiaries: Robel Bahnbaumaschinen, Robel France, Robel North America Corp, Robel Railway Engineering Technology (Shanghai), Vogel & Plötscher and Schweerbau International.
Legal continuity is assured through the renaming of Deutsche Plasser Bahnbaumaschinen as Plasser Robel Services; the service company will keep its headquarters in München. Karl Oberreiter, former Managing Director of Deutsche Plasser and head of the Robel service business unit, will manage the combined organisation, which has a total of 250 employees at three locations in München, Opladen and Freilassing.
