INTERNATIONAL: The Railsponsible initiative to support continuous improvement of sustainability practices throughout the railway supply chain was formally launched in Utrecht on March 4.
Railsponsible aims to share ethical, social and environmental best practice and processes across the rail industry, using common tools to establish a common understanding and improve efficiency. For example, this month is due to see the launch of a common supplier assessment campaign using the EcoVadis collaborative platform.
The initial six signatories are Alstom Transport, Bombardier Transportation, Deutsche Bahn, Knorr Bremse, NS and SNCF, but the initiative is open to all operators, suppliers and industry associations.
