On August 31 Railpool acquired Nordisk TogTeknikk AS and its and its NTT Sverige subsidiary from Einar and Katri Hageskal, who will continue as CEO and CFO. The Greenbrier Companies has elected retired four-star Admiral Thomas B Fargo as Independent Chair from September 1. He has been a board member since 2015 and Lead Director since January 2021, a position which is eliminated with the election of an independent Board Chair. Fargo succeeds William A Furman, who has been Executive Chair since March and will continue to serve as a board member until January 2024, completing 50 years with Greenbrier.

The National Rail Centre of Excellence is being rebranded as the Malaysian Rail Development Corp. Transport Minister Dr Wee Ka Siong said MRDC would act as a co-ordinating body for development of the domestic rail industry, developing skills, improving standards and co-ordinating research collaborations.

He brings more than 23 years of experience in the rail sector, having started his career at Guangzhou Metro Corp as fleet operation and maintenance engineer, before working for TÜV Rheinland and Siemens Mobility in China before joining Alstom in March 2022.
Amsted Digital Solutions has appointed Valerie Williams to lead the company’s Professional Services team, with an emphasis on fleet management. She has more than 16 years of experience in wagon fleet management including strategic planning and fleet sizing, dispute resolution, freight rate and contract negotiations, and North American rail freight regulations.
