SKF and Televic GSP have signed a letter of intent to explore combining the bearing manufacturer’s rotating machinery spacialism with Televic GSP’s expertise in bogie-mounted hardware for data collection and edge computing. The companies envisage that data from bearing sensors will be fed into Televic’s bogie-mounted Cosamira edge computing unit, which would run SKF’s algorithm to analyse the data and transmit information in real time to provide decision support and facilitate trend analysis in the cloud.
A partnership has been announced to bring together HaslerRail’s EVA+ Rail Data Management system and Cyclus’ CylusOne rail cybersecurity platform to protect onboard ETCS equipment without requiring changes to the overall architecture.
Dimitrios Koutrouvis has been appointed Managing Director of Lütze Transportation from October 1, replacing André Kengerter who is leaving the business. ‘Koutrouvis was responsible for developing our company’s rail equipment for many years, and he is an outstanding expert on the rail industry and the market’, said company owner and CEO Udo Lütze.

Certification company Certifer has completed the acquisition of engineering consultancy Vysus Group’s transport business, which has experience including RAMS, signalling and approvals management. ‘The team has been incredibly successful in developing a market differentiating solution in the transport sector in Scandinavia, but opportunities to scale and further grow the business geographically have been limited’, said Vysus CEO David Clark. He said there was a natural fit with Certifer, and ‘foundations exist for both parties to flourish and expand the geographical footprint’.
Siemens Mobility has been certified by TÜV Süd as meeting cybersecurity standard IEC 62443 for rolling stock, the train IT security gateway and the core shield data capturing unit.
Indra has obtained Silver IRIS certification from AENOR to the ISO/TS 22163:2017 standard for high-quality systems and management applied to the rail sector. This represents an upgrade from its existing Bronze certification.
