Hübner has inaugurated an €11m factory in Bengaluru to supply the Asia-Pacific market; the company currently has contracts to supply more than 500 gangways for Indian Railways and over 800 for BEML trains for the Mumbai metro. ‘The new Namma Factory makes it possible for Hübner to operate more effectively, more flexibly and with shorter delivery routes in India’s growing market’, said Group Managing Director Kai Mentel. ‘We are not only meeting localisation requirements and reliably serving the needs of our customers, we are also strengthening the entire global production network of the Hübner Group.’

Frauscher Sensortechnik has expanded its facilities at the Smart Rail Connectivity Campus at Annaberg-Buchholz in Germany, with an office building and a showroom for exhibiting its product portfolio. ‘The training and research centre offers us approximately 30 km of standard track without regular operation for conducting live tests of our solutions and development trials with our partners - 365 days a year, around the clock. This enables us to implement our research and test projects in a time-saving and efficient manner’, said Ralf Müller, who is responsible for the site on behalf of Frauscher.

The Australasian Railway Association has opened applications for rail professionals aged 35 and under to join its eight-person Young Leaders Advisory Board, which was established in 2019 to harness the ideas of emerging talent to inform the issues, projects and priorities the ARA pursues. Appointments are for two years, with four members appointed each year.

Powerlines Group CFO Berthold Bartsch became CEO on April 1, succeeding Gerhard Ehringer who has stepped down after 16 years with the company. Michaela Achter has been appointed as CFO, and Michaela Gütl as Group COO. ‘With the internal management appointments, we have not only found an excellent succession solution, but at the same time we also have started a generational transfer that will ensure on the one hand the maximum of continuity and stability and on the other hand focuses on further development and progress’, said Bartsch.

Jan Christoph Harder became President Region West at Škoda Group on April 1, succeeding Mike Niebling who has left the company. Laurent Fromont joined as Senior Vice-President Rolling Stock Engineering, succeeding Andreas Maroschik who is remaining with the company. ‘Škoda Group has the ambition to grow more internationally and to improve drastically its performances; therefore since 2022, we have set-up a clear strategy and started to reinforce the leadership team’, said CEO Didier Pfleger. ’Both Jan and Laurent have years of experience in the markets we are currently focusing on.’
