UK: Engineering company Ramboll has acquired specialist signalling firm DEG Signal Ltd, which is based in Wiltshire and has 17 staff providing consultancy and design services for mainline and urban rail operators.
DEG Signal’s customers include Network Rail, Transport for London Thales, Ansaldo STS, Amey and Siemens; recent projects have included concept design for a signalling protection system on London Overground routes, and work to improve the resilience of Thameslink services. Its activities and staff will continue to operate from Warminster, led by Chief Executive Doug Green.
‘We are very excited to be bringing the team at DEG Signal on board’, said Ramboll’s UK Managing Director Mathew Riley on April 19. ‘They are a team we have worked with on multiple occasions and so we know that their excellent capabilities will help us to deliver even better value for our clients’. He added that Ramboll’s work on High Speed 2 in the UK and the implementation of ERTMS in Denmark mean the consultancy is ‘involved in some of the most exciting rail projects around.’
