GERMANY: Track maintenance plant supplier Robel has taken a majority stake in Vogel & Plötscher GmbH, which specialises in track measurement systems and electric drives.

Based at Breisach in Baden-Württemberg, Vogel & Plötscher will continue to trade as an independent business following the acquisition of a 70% stake in it by Robel Holding GmbH. The company’s long-time owner Rolf Herter will remain as Managing Director.

Commenting that the Vogel & Plötscher brand stands for ‘safety, quality and user-friendliness’, Robel CEO Wolfgang Fally said ‘our products and our innovative spirit perfectly complement one another. With the integration of V&P into the Robel Group, we now have the chance to make full use of synergies on both sides and to promote each other with combined energy.’

Robel Holding GmbH was itself established on May 31 through the rebranding of the former Deutsche Plasser Holding GmbH. As well as Freilassing-based Robel Bahnbaumaschinen GmbH and Vogel & Plötscher, the Robel Group includes subsidiaries and local distribution businesses such as Robel France SAS and Robel North America Corp.
