GERMANY: Stadler has acquired VIPCO GmbH, which has become a new German subsidiary under the name Stadler Mannheim GmbH.
The 50 staff in Mannheim, Kassel and Halle will develop hardware and software for train control, communication and diagnosis systems for use across the Stadler Group, including products for retrofitting as part of rolling stock life extension projects.
‘After long-standing and very successful collaboration in many projects, we are proud to now be part of Stadler and be able to further develop and incorporate our technologies within the company’, said Albrecht Teich, Managing Director of Stadler Mannheim, on June 19.
The acquisition ‘helps us follow our path to focus more on expanding our in-house expertise in elementary fields for the railway industry such as further digitalisation and modernisation of vehicles’, said Jure Mikolčić, CEO of Stadler Germany.
