UK: Road-rail vehicle convertor Swedish Rail Systems is to install Navman Wireless tracking systems on 62 vehicles, with the aim of improving asset management and cost control as well as deterring theft.
Combining vehicle tracking with Navman Wireless' CoNex power take-off monitoring module enables SRS to monitor when a vehicle arrives at a destination and when specified equipment is deployed, proving fleet managers and customers with greater transparency.
'The Navman Wireless system will enable us to ensure that overtime payments are paid correctly and private mileage is properly recorded', said SRS Managing Director Simon Whatley. 'We'll be able to literally show our customers exactly where our operatives are at all times. Health and safety will also be improved, as we will now be capable of identifying unusual behaviour and reacting to potential incidents with greater speed and precision'.
