GERMANY: Aachen transport association AVV has awarded Cubic Transportation Systems a contract worth more than US$3m to supply and maintain a multimodal ticketing system in the regions of Aachen, Düren, and Heinsberg.
Mobile ticketing, an internet shop, and customer service portal are to be implemented by September of this year, while season tickets and the booking of car and bike sharing modes are expected by the end of 2021.
‘In partnership with Cubic, operators and the local public transport bodies, we aim to create a network for all transport systems’, said managing director of AVV Hans-Peter Geulen. ‘We will create a modern and digital mobility platform that incorporates timetable information, multimodal offers and various mobility apps.’
