IRELAND: Efacec has been awarded a €25m contract covering E&M systems for the Luas Cross City tram line in Dublin.
This includes substations, remote power control, electrical installations, signalling, fleet management, communications, CCTV and a control centre.
The Cross City line would link the existing Red and Green lines when it opens at the end of 2017. The 5·6 km route would have 13 stops and is expected to add between 8 million and 10 million passenger-journeys trips per year to the Luas network.
