GERMANY: Freiburg public transport operator VAG has signed a contract for 12 CAF Urbos 100 trams for its metre-gauge network. The exact contract value is undisclosed, but is less than €40m, according to VAG.
The seven-section low-floor trams will be 43 m long with capacity for 250 passengers. They will be air conditioned and have two ticket vending machines per tram. Two strips of LED lighting will be fitted with sensors to adjust the light levels according to external conditions. The vehicles will be delivered by mid-2017.
