RUSSIA: Manufacturer United Wagon Co, leasing company TransFin-M and freight forwarding company FT Logistic have signed an agreement for the supply of 200 Type 11-6874 covered vans by the end of next year.
Intended for carrying large lightweight or heavy small-sized goods, the wagons have 25 tonne axleload bogies and a capacity of 73 tonnes or 175 m3.
The doors are larger than on older designs, and there are four hatches on the roof and sides for loading of bulk freight.
The wagons are designed for a maintenance interval of up to 1 million km or eight years, compared to up to 160 000 km or three years for conventional designs.
