HUNGARY: The MÁV FKG Kft-t maintenance subsidiary of the national infrastructure manager has awarded Harsco Rail a US$10·3m contract with to supply a 20-stone rail grinder.
The manufacturer said this was the first grinder to be ordered by the Hungarian national railway, and its first contract in the country.
According to Harsco, the RGH20C2 design for rail reprofiling and surface defect removal is ‘one of the most technologically advanced grinders working today, complying with all European standards including Stage V emissions requirements and able to work on plain line and turnouts without any modifications’.
