MONTENEGRO: Plans for international rail links and other long term improvements to the rail network are included a national infrastructure strategy for 2021-23 which has been adopted by the government.
The proposed international links would run from Nikšić towards Bileća in Bosnia & Herzegovina and from Bijelo Polje towards Pljevija and Berane in Kosovo.
Modernisation of Bijelo Polje station is also planned.
Funding of €42·7m has been allocated for maintenance of Montenegro’s 328 km network in 2022, and €31·1m in 2023.
