UKRAINE: Electrification of the 4∙2 km link between Post-Pіvdenniy and Korosten-Zhytomyrskyi in the railway junction on the edge of Korosten was completed on January 14.
CEO of Ukrainian Railways’ Southwestern Railway Artem Myronovych said up to 3·9m hryvnia/year would be saved through the elimination of diesel traction on the section of line, while freight operations in the Korosten area would be simplified.
He also announced plans to electrify the 83·7 km line from Korosten to Vistupovichі and the border with Belarus.
