CANADA: PNR RailWorks has installed two large signal gantries spanning nine tracks as part of the Union Station Rail Corridor signalling enhancement programme on the Metrolinx network in Toronto.
Concrete foundations were installed and the structures pre-assembled over two weeks, and then the gantries were put in place during a 52 h weekend blockade in August.
‘It is exciting to finally see structures being erected and the fruits of the diligent planning of the engineering and constructions teams pay off’, said Jens Bretthauer, USRC Project Director at PNR RailWorks.
