POLAND: A consortium of Alstom, Thales and Nokia has completed the deployment of ERTMS to support 200 km/h operation on the Warszawa – Gdynia section of railway route E65.
‘This jointly-delivered project is a game-changing achievement in the history of high speed railway implementation in Poland’, said Sławomir Nalewajka, Managing Director of Alstom in Poland, Ukraine & Baltics. ‘The decision of the head of the national safety authority in Poland to approve train traffic at the speed of up to 200 km/h under the control of ERTMS Level 2 is the first ever decision of this kind in the history of Polish railways.’
The project covered 350 km route-km and 35 stations and eight integrated control rooms. Alstom and Thales Polska were responsible for the design and implementation of ETCS Level 2, while Nokia provided the GSM-R.
