ZAMBIA: National telecoms company Zamtel has signed a memorandum of understanding to provide Zambia Railways Ltd with voice and data communications as well as digitalisation technology.
As part of the agreement, Zambia Railways’ telecoms network on the corridor from Chililabombwe to Livingstone will be integrated with the Zamtel network. Zamtel will provide ZRL with technology to improve efficiency and service delivery in areas including procurement, human resources, finance and stores management.
Speaking folling the signing of the MoU on February 20, Zamtel Board Chairman Danny Luswili said the national telecoms company had positioned itself as a prime driver of digital transformation, and it saw opportunities for other state companies to tap into its strength and capabilities.
