MECHAN: Heavy lifting equipment manufacturer Mechan will be exhibiting in the British Pavilion at InnoTrans 2016, where it will be displaying a full size working jack for the first time.
This will be used to demonstrate the company’s Megalink control system, which allows a large number of jacks to work in synchronicity. A combined power and data cable minimises installation costs, and a touch-screen interface provides constant feedback with information recorded on usage and faults. An almost unlimited number of jacks can be operated together, with the largest system produced to date being a 44-jack chain which is used to service 11-car Alstom Pendolino trainsets on the UK’s West Coast Main Line.
