INDIA: Knorr-Bremse officially opened a Rail Vehicle Systems production facility in Palwal on November 15, three days after inaugurating a Commercial Vehicles Systems plant in Pune along with a Development Centre shared by the two divisions.
Knorr-Bremse said the new production plants offer greater capacity that the facilities they replace, and have been laid out to promote collaboration between production and support departments.
The new rail plant is situated 30 km south of the former site in Faridabad. It has 26 000 m2 of production and office space where 500 employees manufacture brake control systems, bogie equipment, compressors and air dryers primarily for the Indian market.
