CZECH REPUBLIC: The first Škoda 26Tr trolleybuses entered revenue service in Ostrava on January 23. Deliveries of the vehicles, for which Solaris has supplied the bodies, started in December, with six arriving so far.
The 12 m long trolleybus has a maximum speed of 70 km/h and 34 seats. It is equipped with batteries to allow it to operate off-wire.
DP Ostrava has ordered 10 Škoda 26Tr Solaris and two Škoda 27Tr Solaris trolleybuses. The 27Tr articulated trolleybuses are 18 m long, with 50 seats and a maximum speed of 65 km/h. These are also equipped with batteries.
When deliveries are completed, DP Ostrava will be able to withdraw its remaining Škoda 14Tr and 15Tr trolleybuses from service.
