RUSSIA: Moscow tram operator Mosgortrans opened bids on September 23 for a contract to supply 300 three-section trams.
The best offer was submitted by a consortium of Metrowagonmash and PK Transportnye Systemy. Its offer of 28·5bn roubles for Vityaz-M trams and 27·7bn roubles for 30 years of maintenance beat bids from Stadler, which offered its Metelica tram, and UKVZ, offering its Type 71-633.
Deliveries are due to take place between 2017 and 2019 at a rate of 100 trams per year.
