SKF has acquired Rolling Stock Supply & Service Pty Ltd, supplier of new and reconditioned wheelset bearings and axle boxes in Australia, New Zealand and Asia.
Established in 1988, RSSS has workshops in Western Australia and Victoria, with annual sales of around £4·5m. Mobile on-site technical services include bearing removals, staff training and trackside assistance. ’The combined resources of RSSS and SKF, including the construction of new workshop facilities, will allow us to increase further our high level of service to end users and rolling stock builders’, said SKF Railways Director Egon Ekdahl.
