Bush freezes transit budget

ON FEBRUARY 3 US President George W Bush unveiled his proposed budget for the 2003-04 financial year. This freezes the allocation for the Federal Transit Administration at the same $7·2bn as in the 2002-03 budget still making its way through Congress, compared to $6·8bn actually spent in 2001-02.
