GLOBAL Railway Industries Ltd has completed its US$2m acquisition of the manufacturing assets of wagon component maker YSD Industries Inc.
Based in Youngstown, Ohio, YSD is a major supplier of wagon doors and side panels, hopper doors, van roofs, autorack side screens and stamped gratings. In the last financial year YSD reported sales of around US$15m.
’We believe Global will realise significant value from the timing of its purchase of YSD’s assets’, said Global Railway Industries President & CEO Mike Kohut. ’Orders for new railcars have begun to surge, which should have positive impact for suppliers’. n
