WITH all speakers now confirmed for the Railway Gazette Centenary Congress on July 1, we are in the final stages of preparation for a very special event.

Topics include Switzerland’s successful national regular-interval timetable - a concept now being suggested in France by RFF; the future of signalling and train control systems, including ERTMS; automation; ultra-high speed trains; and tomorrow’s track and freight train technology. The theme of research and development will run throughout the event, and we look forward to welcoming readers with a special interest in this key area.

To book for the Congress and Celebration Dinner, contact Sarah Barnes: tel +44 8652 3233 or e-mail sarah.barnes@rbi.co.uk

And don’t forget you can also join us for an optional trip on the Cathedrals Express from London to Stratford-upon-Avon on July 2. We look forward to meeting you! n
