Canadian Pacific Railway has given a positive review to ARS Networks’ Crosslogix advanced warning system for level crossings. Testing has been under way on CPR’s main line west of Toronto since last autumn, and an external third party auditor will be appointed to ensure that Crosslogix meets the criteria for computer-based vital systems.

Manufacturing of the circuit boards and other vital components has been contracted out, and commercial packaging of the system will be carried out in such a way as to meet American Railway Engineering & Maintenance of Way Association specifications. This will ensure that the system is built to withstand the harsh environmental conditions that may be encountered on North American railways.
