FRET SNCF has licensed a customised version of MultiRail Enterprise Edition for developing and updating its planning of wagon movements.
The software is being adapted to suit local requirements, including translation into French and integration with SNCF’s existing computer systems. Support and deployment is expected to take six months, with a MultiModal consulting team in Paris to assist SNCF with the optimisation of its service planning.
’We started the project using the MultiRail Freight Edition, and we are phasing in the new Enterprise software by the end of the second quarter’, said Phil Sutcliffe, Managing Director of MultiModal Europe. ’We believe that upon the full implementation, SNCF will realise significant new operating efficiencies and a sharp improvement in service’.
