THE CATALUNYA regional government’s construction authority GISA has awarded 15 contracts for civil works on Line 9 of the Barcelona metro (RG 4.03 p184), worth a total of €1·16bn. Consortia including FCC have won work worth a total of €471m, while Dragados is a member of groupings that have netted contracts amounting to €425m.

The largest single contract, covering a section near the Llobregat river between the airport and Parc Logístic, has been awarded to FCC, Ferrovial, OHL, Scrinser and Copisa with a bid of €196m. Work is expected to take 25 months to complete. Dragados, Copcisa, Rubau and Comapa made the winning bid of €149·5m for the second largest package of works, covering a section of the Zona Franca branch section with three stations, as well as surface structures and workshops.
