BOMBARDIER is to unveil its EBI Track 400 jointless coded track circuit at Infrarail 2008. The circuit, designed to meet the specific needs of the UK market, uses multi-bit coded telegrams to ensure immunity from traction interference. Bombardier has worked with satellite communication specialists to develop a coding and modulation system which ensures robust code recognition performance in the noisy track circuit environment.
To allow continuous movement authorities to be transmitted, EBI Track 400 uses an on-board transmitter and a reception loop in the track. The EBI Track train detection family also includes train location systems and axle counters as an alternative to track circuits.
