ZHUZHOU CSR Times Electric Co and US firm Freescale Semiconductor have established a joint microelectronic research laboratory at Zhuzhou's technical centre.
Engineers from both companies will undertake product development and support at the Chinese facility, focusing on AC drives, vehicle controls and diagnostics, safety systems, onboard electrics and passenger information.
'The establishment of this joint lab represents an important step for China's transport industry to bring in advanced foreign technology,' said Ding Rong-Jun, President of Times Electric.
