HAMBURG’S Hochbahn is to fit more than 300 metro cars with TagMaster heavy-duty radio-frequency identification tags as part of a total operations monitoring and control system being supplied by Vossloh Information Technologies.
The 800 tags will be used to provide accurate information about train locations and travel direction, and 190 readers will be installed on sleepers at strategic locations across the network.
TagMaster has also received its first major order from Chinese Railways, and in conjunction with Shanghai-based Richor Communication Co Ltd will begin delivering 980 reader units to China this month.
