ON April 4 PKP Intercity Ltd launched low-cost promotional fares on its principal routes. Marketed as Tanie Linie Kolejowe (low-cost trains), tickets are quota-controlled and are valid in second class only on 13 day trains and 10 overnight services.
A flat fare of 27 zloty is charged regardless of distance, and tickets must be purchased from ticket offices at least seven days before travel. Couchette accommodation can be purchased for 20 instead of 50 zloty, but no bedding is provided. The price of berths in sleeping cars is reduced by 10 zloty.
