KING Rail has unveiled a prototype low-height rail trailer for transporting materials and plant around worksites at up to 32 km/h. The unit has a rated capacity of 20 tonnes.
The prototype is 5m long, but the modular construction allows 4m and 6m versions to be offered. All are 2·5m wide with a deck height of 570mm above the rails. Heavy-duty rubber suspension is fitted, along with a parking brake, LED lighting and four-leg integral lifting chains.
Other options which are available include solar panels to charge the low-maintenance on-board battery, directionally-controlled lighting, drop sides and ramps.
