MER MEC has completed factory acceptance testing of a Roger 1000K self-propelled measuring vehicle which is being supplied to Korea Rail Network Authority for use on the Seoul - Pusan high speed route (p266).

The vehicle is based on a design supplied to Norwegian infrastructure authority Jernbaneverket. As well as video recognition of rail head defects, the vehicle measures track geometry, rail profile, rail corrugation, overhead line geometry and contact wire wear at speeds up to 160 km/h.

In January Mer Mec was awarded a contract to modernise an existing Plasser track measuring vehicle used by Brazilian mining and rail freight operator CVRD on the Caraj
