CARMEN Systems has acquired Australian software and operations research company Opcom Pty Ltd. The technologies of the two companies are being integrated, and Carmen Systems plans to continue to support Opcom products.
From offices in Brisbane and London, Opcom has supplied optimisation software and services to customers including SNCF, RailCorp CityPendeln and Britain’s National Rail Enquiries, and also outside the rail industry. In the 2003-04 financial year it recorded revenue of A$8m.
