Kenya Railways Managing Director Eric Nyamunga has resigned with effect from March 17. He has been succeeded by Douglas N Odette, who was formerly General Manager Freight.
Former CSX President Glenn Michael is taking over as General Manager of PeruRail from Paul White, who will retain overall control of the company. Amongst former Enafer staff on the management team are Carlos Noriega as Deputy General Manager and Emilio Viscarra, Permanent Way Manager. David Campbell is Financial Controller and Romulo Guidino is Commercial Director.
October Railway President Alexander Kuznetsov has stepped down and is replaced by Gennady Komarov, a former President of the East Siberia Railway.
Long Island Rail Road President Thomas Prendergast has stepped down to join the London Infrastructure Consortium, one of the bidders for the Underground PPP. In the event of a successful bid, he is expected to become LINC’s Chief Executive Officer.
Railtrack’s Operations Director Chris Leah has been appointed to the new position of Director of Safety & Environment. Paul Prescott, Director of Planning & Strategy, takes over responsibility for Railtrack’s asset management functions. Along with Prescott, Performance Director John Curley will now report to the Chief Executive, while Director of Contracts & Supply David Meek will report to the Director of Major Projects & Investment.
Robert DuBow is joining Amtrak as Senior Budget Director. He was formerly Budget Director with the Philadelphia city government. Amtrak’s Intercity business unit is being reorganised and split into Eastern and Western regions, each headed by a Vice President. Al Edelston will head the Eastern Region, and Don Saunders takes charge of the Western Region; both report to Intercity President Edward V Walker.
Ray McCutcheon has retired as Managing Director of Westinghouse Signals Australia and is succeeded by General Manager Philip Ellingworth. Other appointments include Trevor Smith as Manager of NSW Operations, Mal Lauder as Head of Control Systems Melbourne, and Margaret McNicol as Quality Manager.
Angel Train Contracts has appointed Ian Knights as Project Manager West Coast, with prime responsibility for the Virgin tilting trains contract. He was previously Project Director at Parsons Group International.
Manager of SJ Passenger Anders Gylder steps down at the end of May to return to telecommunications operator Telia.
Stephen Roberts has been named to head Georgia Rail Consultants, a joint venture of three consulting firms working to develop a $1·.5bn passenger rail programme for the state. He was previously Operations Director for Virginia Railway Express.
Peter Aldridge, Head of Business Development at HSBC Rail, has been appointed Director in succession to Noel Quinn who moves to the parent company HSBC Bank plc.
Harmon Industries has appointed Jeff Utterback as President of its subsidiary Harmon Control & Information Systems, formerly Syseca Inc.
Eurotunnel has appointed Stéphane Labous as Freight Manager Iberia for Eurotunnel Shuttle Services. He is succeeded as Regional Business Manager Spain by Louis Olivares, formerly with Esso Petrol.
CSX Corp President Ronald J Conway resigned from the company last month. His duties will be taken over by John W Snow, CSX Corp Chairman & CEO. Executive Vice-President & Chief Financial Officer Paul R Goodwin becomes Vice-Chairman but retains responsibility for finances. At CSX Transportation, Senior Vice-President & General Counsel P Michael Giftos is named Executive Vice-President & Chief Commercial Officer, while Executive Vice-President Michael J Ward takes responsibility for rail operations and performance.
