Netherlands Railway is replacing existing polyester coach interior cladding with sheets made of Xantar, an unfilled blend of polycarbonate and ABS which is extruded into sheets and then vacuum-formed in combination with a co-extruded PVDF protective layer.

CAPTION: Robel Bahnbaumaschinen is supplying 26 type 54.22 crane vehicles to German Railway subsidiaries for track maintenance work. The first nine are now in service, and deliveries will be completed in 2006.
CAPTION: Bilfinger Berger and Balfour Beatty have installed a steel supporting grillage to minimise disruption while a Network Rail bridge in Manchester is rebuilt. Installation of the grillage required a 36 h suspension of services, but once in place it allows trains to run during excavations ready for a concrete box to be pushed into place. The grillage will be removed once the bridge is complete
