Save the City
This video from the International of Public Transport argues that ’without mobility, a city is no longer a city’. Aimed at increasing awareness of the role of public transport amongst decision makers and opinion formers, it highlights examples of good practice in land use and transport planning from around the world. It is available in English, French and German.

Les TGV Européens
by Eric Cinotti and Jean-Baptiste Tréboul
This addition to the ’Que sais-je?’ series of pocket books offers a concise history of the development of the TGV in France and its derivatives elsewhere in Europe. Topics discussed range from European transport politics to pricing and market share. Eurostar receives some fulsome praise, although the authors note that uniforms worn by the 12 staff on each train cost Fr6000 each. Thalys is also well covered as an example of how high speed rail travel may influence European integration.
