NEARING completion at Crissier near Lausanne in Switzerland is a giant track relaying train destined for Network Rail. Nearly 140m long, the P95UK consists of six vehicles mounted on 11 bogies.
Due for delivery in August, it will enter service at the end of the year or early in 2005. Whereas a relaying train supplied earlier by Harsco Track Technologies for use on the West Coast Main Line does not permit trains to run on adjacent tracks, the P95UK has been specifically designed to ensure this is possible, according to Matisa’s Marketing Director J
