WINDHOFF Bahn- und Anlagentechnik GmbH will be unveiling details of a 300m test track which it will use to demonstrate a concept for a ropeless trolley able to shunt rakes of stock weighing up to 450 tonnes.
A hydraulic lifting assembly will raise one axle on one vehicle, creating sufficient traction to haul the wagons. A 12 kW drive will pick up power from shielded electric lines, with control data exchanged in a similar manner.
Windhoff will be exhibiting on a joint stand with other members of the Georgsmarienhütte Holding group, where it will be highlighting the wide variety of workshop equipment it can supply to operators, including lifting systems and wheelset handling tools.
