GERMANY: Senior metro, tram and light rail technology leaders will meet at SmartMetro in Hamburg this November to discuss the challenges facing urban rail.
Organised by Railway Gazette Events and taking place on November 14-16, SmartMetro will cover key topics including: CBTC, radio communications & data networks, upcoming metro projects, city infrastructure expansion, smart operations, advanced asset management and ridership & passenger services.
Among the industry leaders already in the programme are Andy Lord (Chief Operating Officer, London Underground); Edgar See (Transport Manager, RATP); Kumar Keshav (Former Managing Director, Uttar Pradesh Metro Rail Corp); and keynote speaker Senator Anjes Tjarks, who is responsible for Transport & New Mobility for the Free & Hanseatic City of Hamburg.
SmartMetro is being delivered in partnership with local U-Bahn operator Hamburger Hochbahn, which will be offering a series of site visits to local network expansion projects as well as providing in depth presentations on the city’s next metro line, U5.
