ALSTOM will exhibit one of the 28 three-car Regio Citadis tram-train vehicles it is supplying to Kassel (p585). 50 similar cars have been ordered by Dutch operator HTM for the RandstadRail network between Den Haag and Zoetermeer.

The youngest members of the Coradia LINT family are the 10 single-section and 18 two-section vehicles which will provide services on four lines around Limburg from December. The first of the Westerwald-Taunus units entered service in July (above), and one will be on show in the open-air display area at InnoTrans.

A further focus of Alstom’s stand will be the Coradia Lirex, which was developed from the experimental train that attracted much attention at InnoTrans 2000. Swedish leasing company AB Transitio and Storstockholms Lokaltrafik have ordered 55 Class X60 trainsets for services around Stockholm.

Urban rail activities being highlighted include Alstom’s turnkey tram project for Barcelona, and the Metropolis underground vehicles supplied to Singapore. Signalling is not being forgotten, and Alstom will be showcasing its work on ERTMS projects in Switzerland and in Italy.
