Houston Airport System has awarded Alstom a €87m contract to provide 10 years of operations and maintenance services for the Innovia automated peoplemover at George Bush Intercontinental Airport. This follows a previous 10-year contract with Bombardier Transportation, which is now part of Alstom.
Hong Kong’s MTR Corp has awarded Ove Arup & Partners a contract for detailed planning and design of Kwu Tung station for Phase 1 of the Northern Link project. Construction is expected to commence in 2023 and is scheduled to be completed in 2027. The station will be on the existing Lok Ma Chau Spur between Sheung Shui and Lok Ma Chau. The second phase will involve the construction of a 10·7 km link from Kwu Tung to Kam Sheung Road on West Rail via three intermediate stations at Au Tau, Ngau Tam Mei and San Tin. This would create a loop across the Northwest New Territories.

Following a meeting on April 20 between the Ministry of Development and representatives from the four largest metropolitan areas, the Spanish government has agreed to provide financial support for the urban transport authorities in Madrid (€127m), Barcelona (€109∙3m), València (€38m) and the Canarias (€47∙5m) over the current financial year.

The US Federal Transit Administration has released an updated Transit Greenhouse Gas Emissions Estimator that incorporates current emissions data and is more user-friendly than the previous version. The tool estimates the partial life-cycle GHG emissions generated from the construction, operation, and maintenance phases of a project.
The Land of Bayern has commissioned DB to develop plans for an S-Bahn service from Nürnberg to Simmelsdorf-Hüttenbach via Lauf (rechts Pegnitz), and for an extension of the existing Lauf (links Pegnitz) route from Hersbruck to Neukirchen bei Sulzbach-Rosenberg.
