SCF Containers International has supplied an Australian freight operator with 150 vented side-door 20 ft containers for use on intermodal train services.
’These containers are the first that SCF has delivered with our unique patented waterproof vent design providing a much better travelling environment for certain types of freight’, said Director Richard Sykes.
’The design has been developed for our clients’ requirements and is especially suited for the transport of products that may require a cool environment on long-haul runs, such as Melbourne to Cairns, but do not necessarily require refrigeration.’
According to Sykes ’side-door containers can deliver a number of benefits including greater operational flexibility and reductions in the handling costs and waiting time associated with the double-handling of conventional intermodal traffics.’
