K INDUSTRIER will be using InnoTrans to launch onto the European market a high-payload wagon with electrically-powered doors, based on a vehicle which entered service in Sweden in 2003.
The use of an advanced single-axle suspension prevents damage to the cargo and allows a high payload. The 30m long two-section articulated Hiqqrrs-vw041 has a tare weight of 33 tonnes and offers shippers a 67 tonne payload with a 25 tonne axleload, or 57 tonnes with a 22·5 tonne axleload. The modular design of the wagon with a semi-permanent superstructure offers great flexibility, and the vehicle can be adapted to suit different situations.
The electrically-operated doors offer a full load opening of 13·4 x 3·0m at the push of a button, speeding cargo handling as well as decreasing the risk of injuries from heavy sliding doors. The wagon has an internal height of 3·0m, and a load surface 2·92m wide.
