INDIA: A consortium of Ansaldo STS and ZTE has been awarded a €38·8m contract to supply signalling, train control and telecoms for the Noida metro.
Ansaldo STS’s share of the contract is €26m and includes CBTC signalling and train control. Telecoms equipment will be supplied by Ansaldo STS and ZTE.
The 29·7 km elevated line will link Sector 71 in Noida with Bodaki in the neighbouring city of Greater Noida with 21 stations. Services are expected to run every 10 min initially, increasing at a later stage to every 5 min during the peaks. CRRC Nanjing is supplying 19 four-car trainsets under an agreement signed in March.
